On Sunday, May 28, 2023, a wave of positive energy swept through Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville. It was the 10th edition of the cycling challenge, Cycling for Inclusion, organized as part of Défi métropolitain de Vélo Québec. The event brought together participants of all levels for a common cause: to support vulnerable families in Quebec. By the end of the day, we had not only reached our goal, but exceeded it, raising nearly $85,000 thanks to the generosity of the public and sponsors.

A Committed Sporting Community

75 cyclists, divided into 12 teams, demonstrated solidarity that went beyond their sporting performance. Through their commitment, they managed to collect 400 donations, proving that solidarity and sport can go hand in hand.

Collective Effort: The Key to Our Success

At the forefront of this wave of generosity was Louis Roberge, President of the organizing committee for Cycling for Inclusion and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Mission Inclusion, who greatly exceeded his fundraising goal by raising over $10,000. This achievement is also the result of the work of the organizing committee, composed of dedicated individuals like Patrick St-Onge, Jean Éthier and Alain Thériault. Their determination and hard work are a true source of inspiration.

Nadine Ménard, a Mobilizing Ambassador

Nadine Ménard, the 2023 ambassador for Cycling for Inclusion, was able to inspire and mobilize the community. As a committed entrepreneur, she encouraged people to join her in this challenge or to contribute with a donation. To her, the $85,000 raised represents much more than a sum of money; they symbolize a shared desire to act for a more inclusive society.

A Real Impact for Vulnerable Families

Since the first edition in 2014, Cycling for Inclusion has brought together 178 teams and 618 cyclists, mobilized for an essential cause. These efforts have enabled the collection of over half a million dollars over the years. For this 10th edition, the funds raised, close to $85,000, will make a real difference in the lives of many vulnerable families in Quebec, as emphasized by Richard Veenstra, our executive director.

Our Major Partners

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our major partners, who played a crucial role in the success of this event. Identification Multi-Solutions (IMS), Jarislowsky Fraser, Premier Tech, Bouthillette Parizeau, and Trans-Canada Capital demonstrated their commitment to the community and have been valuable allies in our mission for a more inclusive Quebec.

Cycling for Inclusion is more than just a sporting challenge. It’s a symbol of what we can accomplish together in favour of inclusion. So, are you ready to join this adventure in the next edition?
