PACIT

An initiative to improve citizen participation

Mission inclusion is very pleased to announce the funding of our new PACIT project in Haiti, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada.

PACIT (Projet Amélioration de la Participation Citoyenne) is one of nine initiatives receiving a combined total of $50.4 million in Government of Canada funding. This citizen participation project in the field of sexual and reproductive health will be undertaken in the municipalities of Léogâne and Gressier, the same areas where we conducted the PROSAMI, project from 2016 to 2021.

Through the PACIT project, Mission inclusion will help protect and improve the sexual and reproductive rights of Haitians, especially women and adolescent girls.

THE PROJECT IN BRIEF

► Project: Citizen participation in the health sector in Haiti (PACIT)
► Implementing partner: Social Justice Connection, Institut haïtien de santé communautaire
► Funding partner: Global Affairs Canada
► Location: Léogâne and Gressier, Haiti
► Duration: April 2021 – March 2025
« PACIT is a citizen mobilization and engagement project that addresses both health and legal issues. We will work closely with the Haitian community and public authorities so that women and adolescent girls can exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights: the right to choose a partner, the right to marry, the right to have children or not, and so on. Women and adolescent girls must be free in thought, word and deed, free of the threat of discrimination, stigmatization or violence of any kind.” »
