The climate crisis does not affect everyone equally. This is why Mission inclusion will participate in COP29 on climate, held from November 11 to 22, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan. Our goal? To amplify the voice of people and communities most affected by climate change.

Our Experience Working on Climate Justice

Through our transformative projects, we witness daily the disproportionate impact of climate change on people in vulnerable situations, particularly women and youth:

ReSea in East Africa

ReSea in the Western Indian Ocean, in partnership with IUCN and supported by Global Affairs Canada’s Climate Partnerships

RCIM in Chad and ABC in Burkina Faso

Supported by the Quebec Government’s International Climate Cooperation Program

Andréanne Martel, Senior Manager ReSea Project:

Through ReSea, we see that climate financing needs to be more accessible to local initiatives and women’s organizations. Our model based on three pillars — Blue Planet, Blue Nature, and Blue People — demonstrates the effectiveness of an approach that combines marine ecosystem protection and inclusive community development.”

Geneviève Morency, Director, East Africa Program:

In the Sahel and the Western Indian Ocean, our projects show that gender equality is inseparable from the fight against climate change. Women are the most affected and carriers of the most innovative solutions to protect their ecosystems.
