Made upon death, a testamentary donation does not affect your income or current standard of living.

A tax receipt for the value of the donation is issued upon death, which provides a tax benefit to your estate.

The donation can take many forms: a lump sum, a percentage of an estate, publicly traded stocks, an RRSP, mutual funds, a life insurance policy or other property.
