Testamentary gift

The testamentary gift: a powerful tool to change the world

I have been with the Jules and Paul-Émile Léger Foundation for 25 years: I started as a monthly donor, I continued by contracting charitable life annuities, then I chose the Foundation for my bequest.

I chose the Foundation because the annual administrative costs are reasonable, but above all else because people from all walks of life invest and believe in it. And the results are there. One of the great moments for my wife and I is finding out how many people have been helped at the end of each year. It’s so rewarding.”

Advantages

Made upon death, a testamentary donation does not affect your income or current standard of living.
A tax receipt for the value of the donation is issued upon death, which provides a tax benefit to your estate.
The donation can take many forms: a lump sum, a percentage of an estate, publicly traded stocks, an RRSP, mutual funds, a life insurance policy or other property.
By making certain decisions in advance, a burden is taken from those close to you. Pass on your values and beliefs and support the causes you hold dear for future generations.

Transmit your values and beliefs for the causes you care about to future generations.
